The American Hockey League announced a brand new streaming service and feature structure called AHLTV, on Wednesday. According to TheAHL.com, they have partnered up with Ontario based HockeyTech to bring a completely revamped state-of-the-art service to AHL fans.
Previously, the AHL was using NeuLion for their streaming packages.
In addition to the live game feeds, the streams will incorporate the league’s statistical database to bring real-time updates. New features will include the ability for subscribers to capture and save their own highlights to share within the platform. No announcement has been made as to whether you will be able to share or embed the highlights on other social media platforms.
Not only has the platform been revamped but the pricing structure has been re-calibrated to make investing a more economical choice. Most packages are now a fraction of what they were previous, which will make them much easier to digest for the common fan.
The packages are broken down as follows:
According to their website, HockeyTech (hockeytech.com) is the worldwide leader in providing hockey-related technologies, analytics, and information services. HockeyTech was founded in 2012 by Stu Siegel, a technology entrepreneur and former Florida Panthers (NHL) Managing Partner/CEO. HockeyTech has made six company acquisitions to date, integrating and developing one-of-a-kind hockey-focused tools. While HockeyTech is a fairly new corporate identity, HockeyTech’s brands have been providing cutting-edge solutions for the hockey world since 1998.
