BREAKING: Blackhawks Extend Vinnie Hinostroza

The Blackhawks announced this afternoon that pending restricted free agent forward Vinnie Hinostroza has agreed to a two year extension worth a reported $1.5M per season.

Hinostroza was sent to Rockford following training camp but his success with the Icehogs could not be ignored for long.  When he was recalled by the Blackhawks on December 8th, Hinostroza was leading the team with 22 points (9G, 13A) in 23 games.

With the Blackhawks, his speed became an immediate weapon for coach Joel Quenneville and he collected 25 points (7G, 18A) in 50 games while also getting time on their struggling power play.

The 24 year old western suburban native and Notre Dame alum is expected to play a versitile depth role with the Blackhawks for this coming season.
