The Chicago Blackhawks took on the Seattle Kraken in a Sunday afternoon matinee at the United Center. Similar to their home opener, the Blackhawks trailed by two goals early in the first and then rallied late for the victory, as the Hawks defeated the Kraken 5–4.
- The Hawks have scored three shorthanded goals in their last three games. This is the first time since 2009 and the seventh time in franchise history. Jujhar Khaira scored the shorthanded goal today in a wild opening period.
- Tyler Johnson scored his first two goals the season with his second goal being the game-tying goal late in third period.
- New faces continue to score goals: Max Domi scored his third goal of the season and Jason Dickinson netted second of the season. Dickinson’s second tally was the game winner.
The 3–2 Blackhawks will return to action when they take on the Florida Panthers on Tuesday for a 7:30 p.m. CDT puck drop.
