Just hours before new head coach Jeremy Colliton was set to coach his first National Hockey League game, Blackhawks fans gathered in the United Center Atrium for a first look at the sweaters that the team will wear January 1, 2019 at Notre Dame Stadium to face the Boston Bruins for the 2019 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic.
The modern twist on a classic logo was revealed on August 24. The black and white logo has a modern felt version of the indianhead surrounded by the words “Chicago” and “Blackhawks”. The classic logo was worn by the franchise in the 1920s and early 1930s.
The sweaters, themselves, are a basic two-color black base with basic white letters much like the ones work in 1934. Along with the white letters, there are white strips on the shoulders, arms and bottom of the sweater. The whole concept is very minimalist, which makes it look that much more clean and professional.
The jerseys are available online and in the Blackhawks store.
