REPORT: Blackhawks Sign Prospect Dylan Sikura

Today, The Athletic’s Scott Powers broke the story that former Northeastern University standout and Hobey Baker nominee Dylan Sikura has signed with the Blackhawks after his college career ended just hours previous, following a 3-2 loss to Michigan, Saturday.

Terms have not been disclosed but there is a cap on entry level contracts, and his is expected to be the maximum.

The maximum salary for an entry level contract is $925,000 plus an allotment of performance bonuses which could end up being being as much as the Artemi Panarin cap hit and subsequent bonuses in 2016, if the criteria are met.

Sikura finished his season 3rd in the NCAA in scoring with 22G-32A-54P.  He also finished with 14 power play goals, which is something the Blackhawks are in desperate need of.

Sikura has been listed as a center but might project better as a wing in the bigger faster NHL.
