The Chicago Blackhawks and New Jersey Devils were involved in a minor trade at today’s NHL entry draft. Chicago received center John Quenneville in exchange for wing John Hayden.
Quenneville had one goal in nineteen NHL games last season with the Devils. The 23-year old also played 37 games with the Binghamton Devils of the AHL this season, registering 39 points (18G, 31A). Quenneville, who is a second cousin of former Blackhawks head coach Joel Quenneville, is yet another former first round draft pick that Stan Bowman will attempt to turn into gold.
John Hayden never gained favor or found a legitimate position with the Blackhawks after coming out of Yale as their captain, in 2016-17.
