As the rest of the league makes moves to become cap and roster compliant before the deadline at 5 p.m. EDT on Tuesday, the Blackhawks announced that defenseman Carl Dahlstrom has been placed on waivers with the intention of being sent to Rockford.
The 24-year-old Dahlstrom had somewhat of a breakthrough year last season, playing 38 games for head coach Jeremy Colliton. In those games, he collected eight assists playing in primarily a third-pairing role. His size and defensive acumen were a rare skillset for the Blackhawks.
He is in the first year of a two-year, $1.7 million extension signed on March 27, 2019.
