The time has finally come for the newest edition of the Chicago Blackhawks’ sweaters to be revealed. After months of rumors, the collar change that the Blackhawks have made for the upcoming 2019–20 season has finally been revealed in real life, on a real player.
The Blackhawks’ new collars have finally been revealed
At the annual NHLPA Rookie Showcase, Blackhawks defenseman Adam Boqvist was snapped in his new Blackhawks sweater.

The change had been rumored for months and months by Icethetics:

Standing next to his brother, Jesper Boqvist of the New Jersey Devils, Adam was photographed by the NHLPA and by Tom Gulitti in the new Blackhawks sweaters. The change in the collar sees the end of the “Pilgrim Collar” and the dawn of a new, scaled-back collar. It is a minor change to a minor sweater detail that has cause major waves among the Blackhawks’ fan community.

So yes, mixed reaction is one way to describe the reviews that the new collars have garnered online. While the team has yet to officially announce the changes, this picture confirms the months of speculation behind the change. It is expected they will wear the new sweaters in the preseason; if not, by puck drop of the regular season on Oct. 4.
