The Colorado Eagles seek a fresh start after an early elimination in the playoffs by the Coachella Valley Firebirds. The Eagles achieved their highest number of wins last season since becoming a part of the American Hockey League.
The Eagles finished with a record of 40–22–7–3, enough for coach Greg Cronin to catch the eyes of the Anaheim Ducks. Assistant coach Aaron Schneekloth has since taken the helm and looks to bring Colorado back to the playoffs this season.
The Eagles will open the season up against the Grand Rapids Griffins with a home-and-home series. This will be the first time that the Eagles will ever face the Griffins in franchise history.
We shall see if the storied rivalry of the Colorado Avalanche and Detroit Red Wings will make for some violent games in the opening couple of weeks.
Thirteen different opponents visit Loveland:
- Abbotsford Canucks
- Bakersfield Condors
- Calgary Wranglers
- Coachella Valley Firebirds
- Grand Rapids Griffins
- Henderson Silver Knights
- Iowa Wild
- Milwaukee Admirals
- Ontario Reign
- San Diego Gulls
- San Jose Barracuda
- Texas Stars
- Tucson Roadrunners
Colorado will also travel on the road to play the same 13 opponents.
The Eagles have not faced the Admirals since their game in Milwaukee on Feb. 27, 2022. Colorado won that game in overtime and swept the series four games to none that season. Nashville has done a lot of building up in its development, so this could make for a great few games.
Longest home stands:
- Six games (Nov. 24–Dec. 9, Jan. 12–21 and March 15–30)
The Eagles struggled the most on the trips up north to the Canadian teams, so the repeat in the schedule will be interesting.
