Eagles sign three more depth players

The Colorado Eagles signed three additional players today, one with some heavy Colorado connections. All three of thee of the players were signed to one-year AHL contracts.  Two of them likely will be sent to their ECHL affiliate, the Utah Grizzlies. A lot of experience come with the players, despite all of of them being rather young. Here is a look at every player that they signed to contracts today.

Bryan Yoon

Bryan Yoon, who is a native of Parker, Colorado, was most recently with the Hartford Wolfpack (NYR) of the AHL. Yoon has deep roots in the state, attending Colorado College from 2018 to 2023, leading the Tigers as captain of his last season. Yoon received an invitation to the Colorado Avalanche development camp in the summer of 2023 and secured a contract with the Grizzlies. He received an invitation to the Eagles training camp, but they released him early on. Later in the season, the Grizzlies loaned Yoon to the Wolfpack, where he played 18 games and earned a AHL contract for the rest of the year.

Yoon shows some sparks of offense when given the opportunity, but is primarily a stay-at-home-defenseman. Considering the depth of the Eagles at defense, they will probably send Yoon to the Grizzlies immediately. If there are injuries to Avalanche or Eagles players, he may be first on the list.

Tye Felhaber

Tye Felhaber is a Pembroke, Ontario native and has been in the ECHL and AHL since he turned 18 seven years ago. Felhaber spent the entire season with the Milwaukee Admirals (NSH), playing 50 games and tallying 23 points (10–13). He was sent to the Admirals the season before on a loan from the ECHL Fort Wayne Komets (EDM) and gained a foothold in the lineup. He is a goal-scoring forward with a high-end shot and excellent skills to match. Felhaber projects as a solid top nine forward who can bring additional value as a trigger man on the power play. Expect him to be a bottom-six forward for the Eagles.

Keaton Mastrodonato

Keaton Mastrodonato is a native Powell River, British Columbia, and has spent his professional career with the Dallas Stars organization. Mastrodonato started with the Texas Stars after playing at Canisius College for four years. Mastrodonato started his professional career with the Dallas Stars organization, playing for the Texas Stars before being loaned to the Idaho Steelheads of the ECHL, where he has been since. While in Idaho, Mastrodonato racked up 42 points (24–18) in just 48 games. He will provide speed and a quick wrist shot to the bottom-three for the Eagles and a lot of points for the Grizzlies.

Conclusion

At this point in the season, both the Avalanche and the Eagles are signing depth players. These will all be players that can jump from one league to another and can play a distinct style of game in both. So do not expect many big names to come out in the coming weeks. Yoon is one player that I have had my eye on for a year or two now, so it will be exciting to see what he can bring to the table if given a chance.
