The Indy Fuel announced today that forward Spencer Watson has signed a Professional Tryout Contract (PTO) with the Rockford IceHogs. Appearing in 33 games with the Fuel this season, Watson tallied 20 goals and 19 assists, ranking him third place in the ECHL. He also enjoyed an Indy Fuel franchise record 14-game point streak which featured eight goals and 12 assists earlier this season.
Watson was a seventh-round pick of the Los Angeles Kings in 2014. He was acquired by the Blackhawks organization for Matheson Iacopelli in 2019. During his career, Watson has spent 131 games in the ECHL between the Indy Fuel and Manchester Monarchs, earning 67 goals and six assists.

This will not be Watson’s first stint in the AHL. In 23 AHL contests with the Ontario Reign and Rockford IceHogs, he has tallied two goals and three assists.
The Fuel will resume play on January 10 against the Toledo Walleye.
