Kraken Anchor Points — Friday follies

The day is almost here for the Seattle Kraken and their fans. Tomorrow, they have their first-ever game at Climate Pledge Arena (exhibition or regular season) when they face the Vancouver Canucks, fresh off their 4–1 stomping of the Chicago Blackhawks Thursday night.

Maybe one of the most important pieces of news, the home opener will only be streaming on ESPN+ and Hulu. There will be no cable broadcast. It was a league decision to not make it available locally on ROOT Sports Northwest, not an organizational decision. Feel free to tweet and email your anger toward the league.

Alex Barre-Boulet was placed on waivers yesterday and was re-claimed by the Tampa Bay Lightning.

The latest injury report is as follows:

Morgan Geekie – Practiced with the team
Colin Blackwell – Still no timetable, but was on the ice today
Calle Jarnkrok – Activated off COVID-19 protocol and back at practice, as of Thursday.

  Today’s practice lines:

Jaden Schwartz — Yanni Gourde — Calle Jarnkrok
Jared McCann — Alexander Wennberg — Jordan Eberle
Brandon Tanev — Morgan Geekie — Joonas Donskoi
Mason Appleton — Riley Sheahan — Nathan Bastian/Ryan Donato

Mark Giordano — Jamie Oleksiak
Jeremy Lauzon — Adam Larsson
Carson Soucy — Vince Dunn
Haydn Fleury — William Borgen

Kyle Pereira and I sat down to talk about the results of the first five Kraken games, the goalie issues and the prospects in the system. Give it a listen or a watch:

⚓  As I mentioned earlier, the Kraken host the Vancouver Canucks Saturday night at Climate Pledge Arena (has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it?). Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. PDT. Follow us on Twitter: @TheRinkOfficial, @TheRinkSeattle, @KrakenHostile and @PuckinHostile
