The Seattle Kraken announced yesterday that they have claimed 29-year-old forward Austin Czarnik off waivers. Czarnik had been playing with the New York Islanders and their AHL affiliate, the Bridgeport Islanders, this season.
The 5-foot-9, 174-pound Washington Township, Michigan, native was signed as a free agent by the Boston Bruins on April 1, 2015, and played 136 NHL games with the Bruins, Calgary Flames and Islanders. He has tallied 43 points (15 goals, 28 assists) over his career.
Czarnik also tallied 219 points in 233 AHL games with the Providence Bruins, Stockton Heat and Bridgeport Islanders, eclipsing the 60-point mark in 2015–16 and 2017–18.
