Thanks Andrew for all that you brought to the Hawks

Under Qs moustache replied to the topic Blackhawks prospect game review: Lukas Reichel in the forum Chicago Blackhawks 4 years ago
I like the Sharpe comparison, who btw was a center when drafted and when he came to the Hawks from Philly.
If this kid can fill the large hole at 1LW that has been open since Sharpe left for Dallas, he will be worthy of the#17 overall pick.

Under Qs moustache replied to the topic ANALYSIS: The big missing piece in the Hawks’ rebuild in the forum Chicago Blackhawks 4 years ago
JJ spot on analysis. Size does matter, and there are no top six forwards currently rostered or drafted that make anyone forget Tom Wilson, Buff, Lucic, or Bickell.

Under Qs moustache replied to the topic Blackhawks Rinkcast – Season 4, Episode 4 – Buncha Jerks? in the forum Chicago Blackhawks 4 years ago
As far as Toews, he’s not in concussion protocol. The Hawks would not have put him on LTIR and cancelled his season, as recovery is difficult to predict, and the Hawks were not going to knock him out for the year.
More logically is Lyme’s Disease. He vacations up in the bug and mosquito capital of the world, Winterpeg. So his exposure to Lymes,…Read more

Under Qs moustache replied to the topic ANALYSIS: Who won the Brandon Saad-Nikita Zadorov trade? in the forum Colorado Avalanche 4 years ago
If I was StanBo i’d have never traded back for Saad. Toews and Hossa made him into the player he is, so he pays the team back by not taking a bridge deal to help the Hawks afford the killer contracts of 19 and 81.
Saad 2.0 wasn’t ideal for him or the team; the trade was the Hawks filling a hole after years of drafting dwarfish puck movers. Seabs…Read more

Under Qs moustache replied to the topic ANALYSIS: The Blackhawks publicly commit to a rebuild. (Wait, no) in the forum Chicago Blackhawks 4 years ago
The Hawks are in talent limbo. The next crew either isn’t NHL ready yet to lead this team or isn’t talented enough to do so ever. Either way, should the Hawks strike gold like they did with Panarin and Kubalik or build thru the draft, this team won’t be good for awhile, and certainly not within the careers of 2,19, or 88. They may make some noise…Read more

Under Qs moustache replied to the topic BREAKING: Blackhawks trade Saad/Gilbert to Colorado for Zadorov/Lindholm in the forum Chicago Blackhawks 4 years ago
Saad and Toews haven’t been the same since Hossa retired. It’s safe to say that Toews benefited more from Hossa than from Saad. Kane loses his wing and Toews gets the wrong winger back for Panarin. Good work Stan.
Saad might have fetched a later first rounder at the TDL, but the Hawks needed size on the defense NOW, after drafting smallish light…Read more

Under Qs moustache replied to the topic BREAKING: Blackhawks take Lukas Reichel at number 17 in the NHL Draft in the forum Chicago Blackhawks 5 years ago
with all the large defensemen and forwards still on the board at 17 the Hawks could have traded down with Washington and got another pick for this year or next and still got Reichel if he was their guy. Middle six guys are second and third rounders. StanBo reached on this pick.

Under Qs moustache replied to the topic 2020 Chicago Blackhawks NHL Entry Draft Ticker in the forum Chicago Blackhawks 5 years ago
Hopefully StanBo saw what Tampa did to make the team more playoff worthy by adding size and grit to the lineup. The “smurf experiment” and “hockey stick ballet defense” can now be put to rest, so it’s time to draft players at 6’+ and over 190 lbs.
I would hope both Kane and Toews would speak up. The Hawks have 21M in cap between those two with no…Read more

Under Qs moustache replied to the topic ANALYSIS: What are Stan Bowman’s realistic options in goal next season? in the forum Chicago Blackhawks 5 years ago
We don’t know that Lerner gave the Hawks the same deal as he supposedly has with LV. So rather than get nothing for him the Hawks took the best offer (admittedly less than he was worth). Subban filling a role of bench warmer as Crow played all but 30 minutes of the rest of the season.
Lerner over played his hand, as the information surrounding…Read more

Under Qs moustache replied to the topic ANALYSIS: Blackhawks’ playoff run ends; now what? in the forum Chicago Blackhawks 5 years ago
Well written article JJ, a tad bit harsh on Kane, but the rest is pretty close to spot on. Boqvist is anything but a good dman right now. Sloppy gaps, slow thinking, bad angles, out skated, and out muscled. The Hawks don’t need anymore under sized puck moving back enders.
Crow was better than his numbers suggest. He was the difference every night…Read more

Under Qs moustache replied to the topic Along the Boards: Crawford’s Brilliance Keeps Series Alive, Hawks win 3-1 in the forum Chicago Blackhawks 5 years ago
As I said from the start of the playoffs, the Hawks go as far as Crow carries them. He’s been their best penalty killer, as well as, best player at full strength. Doubtful they get past EDM with out his goaltending. Also noted this was game 2 of a back to back

Under Qs moustache replied to the topic Along the Boards: Vegas outclasses Chicago 4–1 in series opener in the forum Chicago Blackhawks 5 years ago
The score didn’t really reflect how close this game was. The Hawks hit the post or crossbar 4 times. Three of those in the first period, so the Hawks were not that far away. The pucks didn’t go in, so thats the score and the story. Half of those go in and the Hawks probably still lose, as the LVGN are the team to beat out of the west.
It’s…Read more

Under Qs moustache replied to the topic Along the Boards: Blackhawks shutout Blues 4-0 in exhibition warm up in the forum Chicago Blackhawks 5 years ago
the cutouts played for the Blues. They looked disinterested, slow and lacked any urgency. Hats off to the Hawks for taking advantage of STL when they were down. A good game for the Hawks to win, as they will need momentum going into the series vs EDM.
Watching EDM take Calgary apart in the first 20 minutes of their game, the Hawks better stay out…Read more

Under Qs moustache replied to the topic Blackhawks’ Corey Crawford deemed ‘unfit to play’ on day one of camp in the forum Chicago Blackhawks 5 years ago
[quote quote=17384]Stay home Corey, please. One step closer to the #1 or #10 pick. …………. Isn’t it just like StanBow to ignore the position? Until he kinda fell into Lehner for the last bunch of yrs he was screwed if anything happened to Crow. Par for the course but IMO this time StanBow’s incompetence is a good thing. Under Qs moustache replied to the topic REPORT: Blackhawks to sign University of Wisconsin defenseman Kalynuk in the forum Chicago Blackhawks 5 years ago
I didn’t see or hear much about Shea after his draft year, so right now Kalynuk is another “puck moving” defensemen under 200lbs. Like that will make him stand out in Rockford, except he’s older than the rest. Hopefully he will get a chance to join the show for a few games and show us what he’s got.

Under Qs moustache replied to the topic REPORT: NHL and NHLPA reach tentative agreement on phase 3-4 protocols in the forum Chicago Blackhawks 5 years ago
What do you call two hockey teams playing in front of no fans? ……………………A practice
Using that line of logic; the Hawks have no business doing anything other than playing the five game maximum of the first round and letting Edmonton move on to the next round (effectively eliminating the Oiler’s chance at the #1 pick, they still have…Read more

Under Qs moustache replied to the topic Blackhawks still hold outside chance at first overall pick in the 2020 NHL Draft in the forum Chicago Blackhawks 5 years ago
With a top ten pick at risk, the Hawks can surely set back the rebuild by winning the best of five first round. It may seem unsportsmanlike to suggest this, but big picture it makes no sense to walk away from a high pick to put a few television dollars in the Wirtze’s pocket. By losing, the house cleaning that needs to continue, probably will.…Read more
