Patrick Kane Given 20/1 Odds To Win NHL MVP

Aside from the NHL Networks hot-take inducing Top 20 lists, Summer content for the hockey twitterverse thrives off of hypotheticals and what-ifs. One of the better what-ifs in the Summer are betting odds. While the Chicago Blackhawks won’t be too often favored to succeed in 2018-19 by the Las Vegas betting community, Patrick Kane has been given a decent chance to be in the NHL’s Most Valuable Player conversation, given 20/1 odds to win the award.

Bovada Gives Patrick Kane 20/1 Odds To Win MVP

On Thursday afternoon, Bovada released their odds to win the Hart Memorial trophy as the NHL’s Most Valuable Player award. Earning top odds is Connor McDavid of the Edmonton Oilers at 10/3 odds, followed by Sidney Crosby of the Pittsburgh Penguins at 13/2, and a trio of Auston Matthews, Alexander Ovechkin, and John Tavares all coming in at 10/1 odds.

The Chicago Blackhawks are represented by winger Patrick Kane at 20/1 and former Blackhawks winger Artemi Panarin is listed at 50/1 odds with the Columbus Blue Jackets this year. Last season, Kane finished without a vote for the Hart Memorial Trophy and finished 6th in Hart Memorial voting after the 2016-17 season.

In the 2015-16 season, Kane became the fifth Chicago Blackhawks player in franchise history to win the Hart Memorial Trophy, joining Stan Mikita, Bobby Hull, Al Rollins, and Max Bentley, winning with 121 first-place votes. Kane also became the first U.S.-born NHL MVP with his win.

Since his Hart Memorial win for the 2015-16 season, Kane has seen his goal and point totals decrease over the past two seasons with 34 goals and 89 points in 2016-17 and 27 goals and 76 points last season. Kane has led the Blackhawks in points in four of the last six seasons, including the last three seasons in-a-row.
