Rockford IceHogs Game To Be Featured On NHL Network

On Tuesday, the American Hockey League and the Rockford IceHogs announced that the November 25 contest between the IceHogs and Chicago Wolves will be featured on the NHL Network. The game will be the third meeting between the two teams this season.

Rockford IceHogs Hit The Airwaves

The IceHogs and Wolves hold a storied rivalry and in late November, it will be featured on the NHL Network. The Illinois Lottery Cup rivalry added a new wrinkle last season as the IceHogs and Wolves met in the Calder Cup Playoffs First Round. The IceHogs would sweep the Wolves in that series in three games, ending with a triple-overtime win thanks to Victor Ejdsell.

The Illinois Lottery Cup currently resides with the Wolves after the teams split the 12-game series last season and the split led to the previous rivalry Cup winner retaining the Cup.

The matchup to be featured on the NHL network will be the third of twelve meetings between the two teams this season, with Rockford travelling to take on the Wolves in Rosemont on November 10 and the IceHogs hosting the Wolves on November 23 prior to the NHL Network game. The game will also conclude a three games in three days stretch for the IceHogs having to host the Wolves on Friday, November 23, before heading to Milwaukee to face the Admirals on that Saturday and then turning back to take on Chicago.

What’s Next?

The Rockford IceHogs are next in action on Saturday, October 13, when they host the Texas Stars for their home opener. Puck drop for Saturday’s game is set for 6:00 pm CT at the BMO Harris Bank Center.

The IceHogs are looking for their first win of the season, hoping to get a bit of revenge against the Stars, who knocked Rockford out of the Calder Cup Playoffs in last season’s Western Conference Finals.
