The Chicago Blackhawks organization added to their goaltending depth when the Rockford IceHogs signed Cale Morris to an AHL contract. Morris announced the signing via his Twitter account on Monday.

Morris, the 2018 Mike Ritcher Award winner for college hockey’s most outstanding goalie, posted a 52-28-18 record during his four-year stint at Notre Dame with a .931 save percentage. During that time, he was a two-time Big Ten Tournament MVP and posted 11 career shutouts.
Morris, the USHL Chicago Steel alum, will join a goaltending carousal in the Hawks organization that includes Malcolm Subban, Colin Delia, Kevin Lankinen and Matt Tomkins. The 6-foot-1, 191-pound Morris is expected to be a mainstay in the net for the Hogs with Tomkins, while Subban, Delia and Lankinen will compete for the top three goaltending positions.
