The 1–1–0 Rockford IceHogs announced a move at goalie, loaning Cale Morris to the Chicago Blackhawks’ ECHL affiliate, the Indy Fuel. Morris appeared in seven games with the IceHogs last season, going 2–3 with a 2.52 goals against average an a .923 save percentage. The former Notre Dame prospect joins Tom Auburn in Indy in net.
With Morris gone for now, the IceHogs are now carrying three goalies in Rockford, with Collin Delia, Arvid Soderblom and Malcolm Subban making up the goalie trio. In the first two games of the season, starts have gone to Subban and Soderblom. Subban was awful, allowing six goals on 17 shots, while Soderblom allowed three goals on 43 shots in the lone IceHogs victory so far this season.
Rockford continues on its six-game road trip this weekend against the Iowa Wild.
